TAWPA Parish Councillors donations helping the community

Dawley Church of England Primary School are celebrating after receiving funding from Great Dawley Parish Council and Telford & Wrekin Peoples Association which, has enabled them to purchase football equipment and a brand new football strip for the school team. The kit, costing almost £600 includes a standard medical kit, cones, training aids and footballs.
Head Teacher Mrs Dorward said, “The teams are delighted, we are all very pleased, thank you very much to our sponsors”.
Volunteer school football coach Mr Butler said, “It’s really important in this day and age to have the right equipment to give the children pride in their playing and their school, we would like to express our appreciation to Great Dawley Parish Council and TAWPA for their generosity”.
TAWPA and Great Dawley Parish Councillor Cllr J Higginson said, “ It is a privilege helping to make this dream a reality, the enthusiasm of staff and pupils is heart warming”.

Community Governance Review gets the go ahead for the Parishes

Yesterday 21st April 2009 the Licensing committee met to discuss further the item on the agenda regarding going to the next stage of the process for a ‘Community Governance Review’ on the parishes.

Petition for fairness for all Senior Citizens in Great Dawley

The Greater Dawley Parish Council meeting on Jan 24th was a grand finale. Labour Councillor Kuldip Sahota proposed to keep the ‘status quo’ regarding the Christmas Party. Councillor Shaun Davies seconded the proposal, and their colleagues, Councillor Jenny Athersmith, Councillor Brian Duce, Councillor Nicola Prosser, Councillor San Sekham, Councillor Tracy Downing, Councillor Nicola Holmes all voted in favour. The Christmas party was originally introduced 15yrs ago.
Cllr Denis Allen has joined TAWPA

TAWPA councillors Vic Tonks, Adrian Williams and Helen Williams, saying welcome aboard to ex Conservative members Cllr Denis Allen.
Founder member Cllr Vic Tonks said, ‘ That now we are the third biggest group on the council representing the people from across the borough with councillors of all political persuations who have reached the conclusion that there is no place in local government for party politics. We should be there for the people not answering political whips. ‘
Vic said ‘ we are always looking for like minded people to join our group so we can make real changes for the good of the people.’
