    Good to have T A W P A back online!
    Looking forward to your AGM.

As a couple of pensioners who voted for you (And will again)
we are just getting to grips with the idea of a new school in Dawley and are not totally opposed to the idea.We thought many times that the trees that have caused such a huge fuss, were to say the least, past their best
However the one big worry that we have is, that when redevelopment starts to the old Phoenix school what is going to happen to the three large football/playing fields at the rear of the school (Not the school’s own sports field.)
We have heard a very disturbing rumour that these are to be sacrificed up to the Great God of Housing. Please tell me that this isn’t true

  3. #3 by admin on March 13th, 2010 - 1:30 pm

In terms of the future use for the existing Phoenix, the wording that’s going in the application for the new one for information is as follows:

A separate planning application will come forward for the existing Phoenix site during the construction period of the new one. The application will include the retention of the Existing Captain Webb Primary school and the extension of the site through the provision of its own designated playing field. The remainder of the secure school site will come forward for residential development, whilst the current public playing fields to the south of the site will remain in such a use and be improved (including the provision of changing rooms).

Hope this answers your question if not please contact any of the Dawley Magna Borough councillors.

Thanks for that – very glad to hear it.
Before I do log off – have you any ideas when repairs will be carried out to the disgusting state of the road surface in Holly road.Particulaly at the corner with Southall Road.I,for one, will be submitting claims for any damage to our fairly new car

I have just overheard and extremely concerned, worried and frightened to hear a Mosque will be built on the grounds of the old Pheonix School or in the new Construction project.
    Could anyone confirm this..
    many thanks

We have checked with the council and there is no substance to this rumour.
